The N Word laid to rest?

Oh, tired, tired, n word. You’ve really been on the move, with all the press coverage, and getting kicked out of cities and such…

I just caught this off of my video news feed, from the Associated Press. I’m sure I’ll have more to say later, but this is a quick one worth watching, with footage from the n-word’s funeral in Detroit, children speaking on how its best Mr/s. n-word has passed on, and some links made between the n word’s funeral and the Mike Richards thing and the Don Imus thing.

But here’s my question:

When might we expect “nigger” to get a funeral?

I’m not sure we have the right body. Who was in charge of making the identification? Is “n word” the right name?
